Consent and consultation form for patients treated with HYALASE (hyaluronidase)

Uses of Hyalase (Hyaluronidase)

1. Aesthetic Medicine – It is commonly used to dissolve dermal fillers (like hyaluronic acid fillers) in case of overcorrection, lumps, migration, or complications.

2. Ophthalmology – Used in eye surgeries to enhance the spread of local anesthesia.

3. Dermatology & Medicine – Helps improve the absorption of subcutaneous injections (e.g., local anesthetics, fluids).

4. Emergency Treatment – Used to manage vascular occlusions caused by filler injections, which can lead to skin necrosis if untreated.

Treatment & Administration

• Injection: Hyalase is injected directly into the area requiring treatment.

• Dosage: Depends on the purpose (e.g., dissolving fillers vs. improving drug absorption).

• Effect Time: Works within 24–48 hours for filler dissolving, but minor results can be seen sooner.

• Repeat Treatments: Sometimes required for full effect.

Side Effects & Risks

• Swelling & Redness: Common but temporary.

• Bruising: May occur at the injection site.

• Allergic Reactions: Rare but possible—skin testing may be recommended.

• Overdissolving: If too much is used, it may break down the body’s natural hyaluronic acid.
