AFTERCARE
AQUALYX AFTERCARE
Aqualyx works by causing an inflammatory reaction in the fat cells which can result in swelling for 3-5 days after treatment. Swelling can be reduced by placing a cold compress to the area for a maximum of 20 mins at a time.
After treatment you may experience redness, swelling, itchiness and bruising to the area. The treatment area may feel tender and firm for up to 8 weeks post treatment
Increasing levels of pain and/or discharge is not normal. If you experience this please contact the clinic immediately for advice
Do’s/Dont’s
Do not use any anti-inflammatory medication (e.g ibuprofen) for at least 48 hours after treatment.
Do not apply any skin care to the treatment area for minimum of 12 hours
Do not use any makeup for a minimum of 12 hours
Avoid physical exercise for 7 days post treatment
Avoid extreme temperatures for 3 days post treatment swimming pools/baths/saunas
Avoid laser treatment for 14 days post treatment
Do massage daily. The area will tender but persist with gentle circular motions for 1-2 weeks after the procedure
Do keep a healthy balanced diet and its important to drink a minimum of 2 litres daily
BOTOX AFTERCARE
Injections can cause small amounts of swelling, a temporary bump, redness, bruising, a mild to moderate headache and sensations such a tingling and mild itching. These are very common and can be considered a normal part of the process
Do’s/Dont’s
Remain upright for 4 hours.
When cleansing, avoid pressure and use gentle strokes away from the eyes.
Avoid facial massages or electrical stimulation of the face for the next 2 weeks.
Avoid wearing tight caps or garments in the area that has been injected.
Avoid alcohol and exposure to UV and extreme heat i.e. sauna, steam, sun beds, very hot showers, strenuous exercise etc
Reduce the Chance of Infection: Do not apply make-up for approximately 6 hours unless it is mineral based.
Wash your hands immediately post procedure
Do not touch your face in the areas injected for 6 hours.
FILLER AFTERCARE
Juvederm filler works by adding volume to the facial tissue through its active ingredient of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the human body. It stimulates the production of the connective tissue that plumps the skin. As you get older, the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen decreases. This increases the appearance of sagging and wrinkling of the skin. Recovery time is minimal but it is important to follow some simple aftercare advice
Do’s/Dont’s
Avoid Strenuous activity for 24 hours post treatment
Avoid high levels of sun exposure i.e sunbeds for 2 weeks
Avoid makeup for 24 hours
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours post treatment
Apply cold compresses to the treated area regularly for a minimum of 24 hours post treatment
Avoid touch or rubbing the area for a minimum of 6 hours post treatment

You should avoid strenuous activity and exposure to sunlight and tanning lamps or extreme weather conditions for 2 weeks post-treatment in order to reduce redness, swelling and irritation.
Apply an ice pack or cold compresses to the treated area for 24 hours post-treatment in order to reduce redness and swelling.
If nodules (small lumps and bumps under the skin) appear, you should massage the treated area after 72 hours.
The injected material may be palpable (felt under the skin) for a long period after treatment.
Treatment site reactions typically resolve within 24–48 hours and swelling within a week1
